Can Pet Ashes Be Used in Rings? | WildBeard Legacy Co
Can Pet Ashes Be Used in Rings?
Yes — absolutely. Pet cremation ashes are incorporated into memorial rings using the exact same process as human ashes. The process, the amount needed, and the result are identical. At WildBeard Legacy Co, a significant portion of the memorial rings we build carry pet ashes — dogs, cats, horses, and other animals whose loss is as real as any human loss.
How Pet Ashes Are Incorporated Into a Ring
Pet ashes are incorporated using a resin inlay process. A channel is cut into the ring band, the ashes are mixed into or layered within a clear or tinted epoxy resin, and the resin is poured into the channel and cured. Once fully cured, the resin is sanded flush and polished. The ashes are permanently sealed inside the ring.

How Much Pet Ash Is Needed?
Very little — typically less than a teaspoon. Pet cremations produce varying amounts of ash depending on the size of the animal, but even small animals produce more than enough ash for a memorial ring. If you're concerned about the amount you have, contact us during your consultation.

Do Pet Ashes Look Different From Human Ashes?
Pet ashes may vary slightly in texture and color from human ashes depending on the animal and the cremation process. In practice, the difference is minimal and doesn't affect the ring-making process or the finished appearance of the inlay.
Can I Combine Pet Ashes With Pet Fur?
Yes. Many of our most meaningful pet memorial rings combine ashes and fur from the same animal in a single inlay. The fur adds texture and visual character alongside the ash.
Can Multiple Pets Be Combined in One Ring?
Yes, in some cases. If you want to honor multiple pets in a single ring, discuss this during your consultation and we'll advise on the best approach for your specific design.
